Rach Gia

Pictures of Rach Gia taken mainly at the Rach Gia Harbor. GREAT place in Rach Gia to catch sunset, the Vietnamese doing their evening exercise or the locals relaxing by the wharf. Sometimes an attraction in Vietnam don’t have to be limited to just temples and museums. Go to where the locals congregate, try mingling with them and you might just have a good time too…

I am going to share a few ‘takeaways’ of Can Tho with you. But I need you to know that I’m not an expert of Can Tho and I don’t stay in Can Tho. My record stands at only 3 days 2 nights of being there. This means Can Tho has a lot more to offer than what I’m going to write next. I only hope this information can help you a little in your planning for a trip to Can Tho…

Cai Rang Floating Market is the biggest floating market in the Mekong Delta. You will love everything about it: the sight, sound and even taste – sip Vietnamese coffee while onboard to make the experience more authentic. Hopefully my pictures below of the Cai Rang Floating Market can do this place justice…

Pictures of the Can Tho River taken in the evening during a leisurely boat ride. Do not confuse this with the typical floating market boat rides in the Mekong Delta. This is just around the Can Tho River…

This is the Cao Dai Temple in My Tho. It is not as big as the headquarter in Tay Ninh but still just as colorful and certainly worth a visit. If you want to learn more about the Cao Dai religion which was founded in Vietnam, click here. A quick summary is that Cao Dai is a Vietnamese sect that seeks to create the ideal religion by fusing the secular and religious philosophies of both East and West…

Phung Son Pagoda

Posted on : 23-04-2010 | By : Vietnam720 | In : HCMC (Saigon)

Phung Son Pagoda is extremely rich in statuary made of bronze, wood, ceramic and beaten copper. It’s peopled with a mix of gilded and beautifully carved statues (some painted). This Vietnamese Buddhist pagoda was built between 1802 and 1820 on the site of structures from the Funan period, dating back at least to the early centuries of Christianity. Other foundations of Funanese buildings have also been discovered here…
