When I wrote my first very own food blog, I already declared to you guys that I’m no gourmet or foodie. This means there will be no technical terms on the stock, what ingredients are used and how much punch every bite of the meat produces. I can only tell you that the fish porridge in this shop at Saigon’s District 7 is VERY NICE.
It was raining that day when I checked out this shop. Not risking riding in the rain with my DSLR, I went with my more than 10 years old pocket camera and hence the lousy picture quality here. But do not let the images deceive you. I promise you it will be worth the trip, especially considering that good porridge in Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon, is not easy to come by.
As usual, there will be no lack of vegetables for your Vietnam dinning experience. The sauce in the picture below is a combination of fish sauce and chili. It’s good.

This is what I personally call Saigon best fish porridge. Cost only US$0.80 for a bowl with only fish meat. If you order a mixture which consists of the eyes, meat and other parts of a fish, it will be US$1.

The next 2 pictures below are that of a fish head which can be ordered as a side dish. Again, let me tell you that it’s very good. Cost between US$1.60 to US$2.20 depending on the size.

Another bonus – a big bonus in this case – is how clean this place can be. There are many cheap and nice food in Saigon but often found in a questionable environment. This shop selling fish porridge is all clean, cheap and the porridge is very nice.
