This post on Phu Quoc Ferry is to give you some ideas of what to expect on your transition from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc Island.
First of all, don’t bother to go looking for the ferry operator’s office to get your ticket. It cost 250,000vnd/ticket (US$14) to get from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc. For only US$1 more, you can buy from your hotel with tickets and assigned seat number issued to you on the spot.

Lots of space for your backpacks. A big TV will keep you entertained for the 2.5hrs ferry ride.

Clean toilets, at least in the beginning.

Do check out the open and upper deck of a Phu Quoc ferry. There are some nice views along the way from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc. Important note: the ferry travels fast and picks up lots of very strong wind- DO NOT let your young kids wonder up here on their own.

I rode from Saigon to Rach Gia and got my bike loaded up onboard to be ferried to Phu Quoc. If you are planning to do the same, the point to remember is that due to the limited space, the ferry can only accommodate about 13 bikes. In this case, do book your tickets early.

This is how the Phu Quoc Jetty looks like when you arrive.

On the way from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc, the staffs onboard the ferry go around selling you bus tickets to Duong Dong which is the central point of Phu Quoc. Cost 20,000vnd (US$1) for the 10km ride.

If you prefer not to take the bus mentioned above, there will be taxis and motorbike riders waiting to service you. No idea about cost but certainly will be more than the bus.

Great Pictures – I especially like your front page 360 deg tour of the beach Phu Quoc Island.
Can I ask:
- What is the opportunity to travel by sea from (any part of) Vietnem to Philipines?
- Also Would it be feasable to travel from Northern India by train to Vietnam?
Kind Regards
Jeremy
Thank u Jeremy.
No idea about travelling by sea from Philippines but India is not bordered with Vietnam.
