I’ve blogged about the Nha Trang Beach before. But because it is such a long stretch (some 40km combined), I’m writing another one.
This beach is all the way up north at the Pham Van Dong Street area where the Tide Hotel is located. From the Nha Trang backpacker’s area, it’s about 5km away. To get there, first ask for the general direction of the Po Nagar Cham Towers. Then go over the Tran Phu Bridge. Soon, you will hit the Hon Chong Promontory and this beach is right in front. By the way, it is also called the Hon Chong Beach.
Before this blog post, I wrote about the Tide Hotel and said that it’s right in front of a pretty beach. On the extreme left of the first picture below is the Tide Hotel
More shots of Nha Trang’s Hon Chong Beach.

Great beach and you can have it to yourself all day long. It’s great at night when the locals come to enjoy, things liven up for about 3 hours then. I usually have my morning banh my there…looking out to sea…..love this place.
So you’ve visited Owen at Tide, right?
Don’t you remember I recommended him to you…I stayed there last spring and fell in love with that area…going back in 2 months to recapture the moment.
I recall now, hehe.
Wow, u’re coming back to Vietnam. Dropping by Saigon? Can we meet please?
Owen and I will both be in Sai Gon, me on arrival and he is escorting his sister back for her departure…..a few cold ones could be wiggled into the plans with no problem.
Cool! Looking forward to!
Good reviews on Nah Trang- i’m planning a trip towards the end of the year and want to ride a bike from Nah Trang to Da Lat, should be fun. I have a few friends in Saigon who suggested it. Another good place to stay in Nah Trang is the Starlet Hotel. A bit more pricey perhaps but great value and views.
Tails, slow down at the Ha Van Pass to take lots of pictures
