The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is a place to see how Saigon developed into the modern city it is today, covering a 300-year history.
As usual, we’ll start from the Ben Thanh Market. (See How to get to Ben Thanh Market).
Standing in between Ben Thanh Market and the statue marked with blue arrow, head towards the Saigon Centre which is that tall dark grey building marked with red arrow. The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is only about 800m from here.

This picture is with the Ben Thanh Market directly behind you. Cross the road here. Again, use the Saigon Centre (red arrow) as a general direction.

After crossing the road from Ben Thanh Market in the previous photo, head down about 200m from here, in the direction of the yellow arrow.

The blue circle marks the first road you’ll need to cross. From here, just 20m down, look out for the road sign ‘Nam Ky Khoi Nghia’, circled in yellow.

After reaching the road sign ‘Nam Ky Khoi Nghia’, circled in yellow, make a left turn.

After your left turn, it’s straight all the way. The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is only about 400m from here. Use the tent, circled, as a landmark (you may not be able to see it until a little further down).

Hi Ben,
Is the HCM City Look Bus still running? how much is the current ticket tour cost per pax?
Would you also know the entrance fee for the Water Puppet show in HCMC?
Thanks and more power!
Hi Anna,
No idea what this ‘HCMC Look Bus’ is about.
About the water puppet show’s price, I think they are around US$4 at the History Museum.
