Sometime back I recommended the Halal Saigon. This post is also about a restaurant in Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, that serves Halal food.
D’Nyonya, located along the same stretch as the Saigon Mosque, is run by a Malaysia who is a Muslim himself. This hopefully means that the food is prepared according to the right Halal practice. Of noteworthy is the owner’s friendliness and how he’d greet customers in the restaurant (and also outside as you are leaving).
Beside the pretty wallpaper in D’Nyonya, what I love most is the Char Kway Teow which is fried flat noodles. They are fantastic and you should try them (I’m no foodie but I come from Singapore where Char Kway Teow is very popular. So when I say that they are nice in D’Nyonya, it’ll be safe to say that they are of a certain standard). Cost only US$3.50/plate which is cheap given the restaurant is located in HCMC’s central (just 50m from the Sheraton Hotel). Give the curry noodles a shot too. Nice as well.
Pictures taken from my hand phone. Sorry for the poor image quality.
