First, we start from the Hai Au Resort (circled in red), or the Seagull Hotel, which is at the 18.2km mark or 32 Huynh Thuc Khang Street. From here, just ride straight up towards the direction of Phan Thiet Town…
Came across Hai Yen Hotel during my recent trip to Mui Ne. Nice overall hotel or resort accommodation in Mui Ne with friendly staffs, beachfront location and best of all- a swimming pool. I asked for the cheapest room and was quoted US$13 with fan but no TV although I’ve heard, during my stay there, them charging the others US$10 with no bathroom (mine came with attached bathroom). The room is quite ok but you may find some ants crawling around and a few mosquitoes every now and then. I won’t complain given the overall package that Hai Yen Hotel provides at $13…
Mui Ne’s Po Shanu Cham Towers is about 5 km out of Mui Ne, on the road towards Phan Thiet. If you are riding on your own, ask the locals and most should be able to point you in the right direction. Just remember to emphasize that it’s Mui Ne’s Cham Towers and not the Phan Rang Cham Towers which is 130km away
The Phan Thiet train station is only about 6 km away from Mui Ne. Plus there will always be many taxi and motorbike riders waiting at the train station. So getting into Mui Ne from Phan Thiet is easy. And here’s 3 more reasons to try the train to Mui Ne:
These pictures of Mui Ne fishing harbor were taken at the same time when I covered the Phan Thiet fishing harbor. But unlike Phan Thiet, Mui Ne fishing harbor had a few fisherman working even in the Vietnamese New Year holidays. This adds life to the pictures. And it helps that the people in there were all very friendly…
Mui Ne sand dunes, just 5km east of the accommodation area, is the main attraction of Mui Ne. It is also what made Mui Ne famous for, followed by the beach. These massive Sahara-style dunes, with its very soft sand, can make climbing difficult. But once you are at the top of Mui Ne sand dunes, the view is very rewarding and creates a dramatic perspective. Point to note is that the sand can get very hot- try going early or late in the day…
Visited Phan Thiet during Tet, or the Vietnamese New Year, which is when most businesses are closed for a few days. This is the reason why you don’t see a single soul in these pictures on Phan Thiet’s Fishing Harbor. I’m sure this place will be a riot of activities on a normal working day, giving us many exciting pictures. But for now, and for a change, let’s allow these beautifully painted fishing boats to be the main stars…
If you are making a trip to Mui Ne, arguably Vietnam’s best beach resort destination, look no further than MuiNeBeach.net for all the information you’ll require. This website is where you can find everything you need to know about Mui Ne, its attraction, accommodations, food and drinking holes and much more. There’s even a free guidebook on Mui Ne that you can download…
People – throw away Hai Au and other let-you-&-me-down resorts in Mui Ne and allow me to introduce you to the spanking new Saigon Cali Resort, opened 10 months ago. Brand new, and understandably spotless, this will definitely be my next resort stay in Mui Ne. It’s located right next, and I mean really right next, to the Fairy Stream which flows by its walls. Price range US$35-45 (no breakfast included – a pity). However, it’s near Kim Loan Restaurant so that is indeed a real comfort…
Sankara, Mui Ne hottest new nightspot, had a soft opening this weekend, in preparation for the big date, at the beginning of tourist season. Sankara has more floor space than any venue on the beach, with numerous indoor and outdoor seating environments. Likewise there is also an indoor and outdoor beachside bar. A lit swimming pool sits at the middle of the outdoor patio, with a stage inside at the entrance for live music. DJ Nic Ford mixes the tunes till the wee hours, with lighting that synchronizes to the music. This new million-dollar bar is set to become a destination in-and-of itself and is sure to lead the wave of new upscale establishments and the next stage of evolution in Mui Ne growing nightlife…
