I am going to share a few ‘takeaways’ of Can Tho with you. But I need you to know that I’m not an expert of Can Tho and I don’t stay in Can Tho. My record stands at only 3 days 2 nights of being there. This means Can Tho has a lot more to offer than what I’m going to write next. I only hope this information can help you a little in your planning for a trip to Can Tho.

001) Stay near the riverfront. This is where most of the actions are. When I was there, I stayed at the Tan Phuoc 3 Hotel.

002) Spend some time bumming around the Can Tho Park. I promise you it’s gonna be a very pleasant walk there.

003) Everyday from 3pm to 3am, there will be food stalls set up in between the Can Tho Market and the Can Tho Park. Good location to dine by the Mekong River.

004) If you prefer a proper set up for your meals, check out the Mekong Restaurant.

005) While the merchandise here may not be as trendy as that of Ben Thanh Night Market from Saigon, the daily Can Tho Night Market still makes for a fun spot to check out at night.

006) Go on an hour’s Can Tho River boat ride. It’s fun.

007) There are 2 attractions in Can Tho City. They are the Can Tho Museum and the Munirangsyaram Pagoda. In my personal opinion, if you are press for time, skip them. Below is a photo slideshow of 15 photos taken at the Munirangsyaram Pagoda.

008) Just along the riverfront, the Can Tho Ong Temple is worth a visit. Do watch out for falling ashes from the large coils of incense suspended overhead.

009) DO NOT miss the chance to visit the Cai Rang Floating Market.
