3 things I like about this Can Tho Ong Temple:
01) Location: if you have been following my series on Can Tho of the Mekong Delta, you’ll realize that I’m always taking about the riverfront. Yes, the Can Tho Ong Temple is also located just in front of the Can Tho River. This means it is very easy to find. Just ask for the Ho Chi Minh statue which is in the Can Tho Park.
02) Architecture: Can Tho Ong Temple was built in the late 19th century. Any Chinese temple this old is usually worth a visit for their aesthetic virtues and Can Tho Ong Temple won’t disappoint you. Plus the many large coils of incense suspended overhead will sure to give you a few good images.
03) Friendliness: The 2 caretakers in this temple are extremely friendly. It was raining when I was there and they turned on all available lights for me to do my shoot. They also removed those unsightly plastic bags and rubbish so that my pictures can turn out better.
