Ben Thanh Market and the things you’ll find there.
These pictures of Ben Thanh Market are fresh from the oven, taken in March 2010. Although I can’t possibly photograph every single item on sale at Saigon’s number 1 attraction, I hope they give you a good idea of what’s available at Ben Thanh Market.
I’m breaking them down into 3 parts: Ben Thanh Market Part 1 is on the clothes, Ben Thanh MarketPart 2 is on the food and wet market and Part 3 (this post) is on the handbags and accessories.

See all 51 pictures of the handbags and accessories you can find in Ben Thanh Market in the photo slideshow below:

One interesting point i learnt about the Ben Thanh market is that the shop keepers have a superstition that the day’s trading will be mirrored by the first customer of the day. In that, if they get a ‘good sale’ first up it will be a good day. So if you go first thing in the morning expect a hard bargain. Great place, and the food stalls at night around the markets are fantastic value.
Hey Tails, good observation.
I’ve brought up this point on the article for Saigon Square too. In fact, in my experience, this applies to Hong Kong, China and India too.
Also agree on the good value food stalls at night. Plus good location to sit down with a Saigon beer and people watch

Hi there, I will be visiting HCMC in two weeks time and I came to your informative site. Just wondering, where do I find Timbuk2 bags in Ben Thanh market. A few of my friends have recommended going there to look. Thanks for help for any info.
