There are so many things to talk about the Allez Boo bar and cafe: they are one of Saigon most popular if not the most popular bar, Allez Boo is one of the few bars and cafes in Saigon that opens 24 hours a day, their distinctive look with the whole place made out of bamboo and the young lady boss who owns Allez Boo is also the owner of 2 other very popular bars in Saigon backpacker’s hostel area. Above all, my favorite thing about Allez Boo is that it is located at the corner of 2 highly concentrated roads of Pham Ngu Lao Street and De Tham Street. For sure it is one of the best places to chill out and watch Vietnam’s crazy traffic and the Vietnamese people going about their daily business.
Interior of Allez Boo. True to the tropical theme, even the bar counter is covered in bamboo.

The second level is air conditioned with a DJ spinning mixture of tunes at night. And on the third level, you’ll get a great view of Saigon backpacker’s hostel area.

My iced Vietnamese coffee with milk, or ca phe sua da, cost 45,000vnd (about US$2.50) which is more expensive than that of Trung Nguyen cafe and Highland Coffee. But it’s the prime view that you are paying the extra for. You’ll see in a moment what I mean.

Also a great place to catch Vietnamese in conical hats and some of their daily activities.

A few snap shots of the extensive menu from Allez Boo. For your information, they had even won ‘Best Cheap Eats in Saigon’ for 4 consecutive years from 2000 to 2003, awarded by Vietnam Economic Times.

Thanks Ben! Your posts are so lively, with very useful comments and beautiful pics. It is as though we were actually in the places you describe!
Keep it up!:-)
Hey Julien, Thank you again. You are always so kind with your words
So when are you coming over?
I like the photo’s, great substance expecially the pictures of the people in their colourful clothes. Life as it is, not some glossy pretend photo’s aimed at the tours market. I’ll have a beer at that bar in about 3 weeks.
Thank you Tails for your kind compliment
Yeah, u gonna like Allez Boo
Have fun in Vietnam.
Nice post Ben. Although I never hung out much here I appreciate it was an OK place in the day. At night it became littered with hookers and wasn’t such a nice place to venture to.
Some great shots nonetheless.
Hey Will! Appreciate your leaving a comment here.
How u doing in UK? Returning to Vietnam anytime soon?
I find Allez Boo a lot more cleaner than Go2. In fact, I’ve yet to see any ‘working girls’ there whereas in Go2, they are there as early as 8pm
