A day trip out to the Cao Dai temple at Tay Ninh is a popular tourist attraction. But you can catch a glimpse of the gaudy faith closer to home in District 4 of Saigon, as there are a few temples scattered around. One can be found at 60 Duong So 6, tucked down a small street off Vinh Hoi. Visitors can go upstairs to the first-floor temple and look to the religion's divine eye for inspiration, or pray to Cao Dai's patron saints Victor Hugo, Sun Yat-Sen and Nguyen Binh Khiem. The caretaker will turn on the neon lights around the hyper-colourful altar for you though a small donation is expected. Address: Street 60 Number 6, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City. |
