Use the Sleeper Bus to travel in Vietnam- from Hanoi, to Hue and Hoi An and visit Vietnam all the way down to Ho Chi Minh City.
And this is what I call 'first class' transportation for us backpackers. Back in 2006, I did a 56 hours journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City on a siting bus. My butt was so sore after that that I swore never to do it again. But this sleeper bus from Sinh Cafe is so different. They have air condition and are very clean (you have to remove your shoes when you get on). The angle of decline is about 150 degrees and for short people like me :-), when the legs stretches to the front, you'll get almost 180 degrees when it's time to sleep. And the best thing is that they have a toilet onboard. This means you can eat and drink all you like without worrying about answering natures' call.
